Christopher M. Long, MD, FACS

After spending much of his life on both the East and West Coasts, Dr. Long arrived in Milwaukee in 1992 to attend the Medical College of Wisconsin. Graduating in 1996, he then went on to a surgical internship and residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin with the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He joined Layton Ear, Nose and Throat Associates in 2001, which combined with Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery in 2005 to form the present Greater Milwaukee Otolaryngology, LLC.
Dr. Long is board certified and a fellow in the American Academy of Otolaryngology and American College of Surgeons. In addition to maintaining a busy practice, Dr. Long continues to educate young physicians as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin and as Clinical instructor with the Department of Family Medicine at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center. Currently, he is the Chief of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, during which time this department ranked as 37th in the nation for ENT care in US News and World Report, the only institution ranked in the state for ENT care.
Dr. Long enjoys treating all aspects of Otolaryngology. His main interests include nasal and sinus disease, voice and swallowing abnormalities and head and neck cancer. He is trained to deal with complex medical and surgical diseases and enjoys treating both adults and children.
Traveling to the Philippines every 2 years to provide surgical treatment to the less fortunate has been one of several highlights of his career.
In his spare time, Dr. Long enjoys time with his young family, coaching youth athletics, outdoor activities and gardening.
