Steven K. Dankle, MD, FACS

Dr. Dankle was born in Iowa City, Iowa.  He graduated cum laude from Cornell College in 1977 and received his medical degree from the University of Iowa in 1982.  He completed an internship in General Surgery at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio followed by a residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University.  He is married and has 2 daughters.  In 1987, Dr. Dankle began private practice in Otolaryngology, joining the medical staff of St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He is also a member of the medical staff of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, West Allis Memorial Hospital, Aurora Sinai Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital and Hartford Memorial Hospital.    

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Dankle is also involved in teaching of medical residents both through Aurora affiliated training programs as well as the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology.  Dr. Dankle has served as medical staff president of St. Luke’s Medical Center, and has been president of the Wisconsin Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.   He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association. His clinical interests include pediatric ear, nose and throat problems, adult head and neck tumors, thyroid surgery and sinus disease.  He travels annually to Haiti on a surgical mission to provide head and neck surgical care.  He has been listed in Milwaukee Magazine’s “Top Docs” in 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008; “Top Doctors in Milwaukee” by the National Research Corporation’s Consumer Choice Award in 2002; “Top Doctors in America” in 2003 and 2006; and Best Doctors, Inc. in 2008.
